A few years ago, I was brought in as a business consultant to help A Pet's Farewell — an in-home pet hospice and euthanasia practice — look closely at how it could reach and serve more grieving families. One pattern stopped me cold.

Every month, grieving families were reaching out with the same urgent question: "My pet has already passed at home — can someone please come?" A Pet's Farewell's veterinarian was devoted entirely to specialty hospice and in-home euthanasia appointments — work that is itself round-the-clock and deeply personal — and like most veterinary practices, the clinic was not built around at-home aftercare pickup. That work is its own discipline, requiring dedicated staffing, transport logistics, and the readiness to arrive at a family's door, day or night, on the day a pet has passed. So families were often referred to their regular vet or a crematory and left to lift their beloved companion into a car and drive them across town themselves, in the very moment they were least able to.

Over the years, I've lost several of my own pets, and more than once I've found myself in that exact predicament — a question I first asked decades ago, with no service like this to call. No grieving family should be left to carry that alone. So I founded Angel Wings 4 Pets to answer that call — a dedicated in-home pet aftercare service offering immediate, compassionate pickup, transportation, and cremation. We continue the care a family has already been shown, straight through to the journey home.

Today we work alongside A Pet's Farewell and many trusted veterinary partners who share the same commitment to families — extending the care they begin, so no family is left to figure out the next step alone. It's the standard I'd want held for my own — and the promise we extend to yours.
